Dr. Steve Chaney received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Duke and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UCLA. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics and the Department of Nutrition. Dr. Chaney was awarded the “Excellence in Teaching Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Academy of Educators upon his retirement in 2012.
